As you probably know, OpenStack is the world's most widely deployed open-source cloud infrastructure software. First of all, its noteworthy software is easy to use, reliable and secure. OpenStack's twentieth release, OpenStack Train, was released on October 16th, 2019 at 9 am CDT. We were already on the scene, with Train already running in production on launch day. In anticipation of this release, OpenStack received 25,500 code changes by 1,125 developers from 150 different companies. That is no small number and truly attests to the passion of the global open source community.

Improved Security Where It Matters Most
Although there are many enhancements in Train, better security and data protection always rank highly in terms of importance. From Ironic bare metal service working to protect services from disk failures to Nova featuring a new framework for supporting hardware-based encryption of guest memory to protect users against attackers, these changes make OpenStack infrastructure safer. For that reason, when it comes to data protection, the OpenStack project Karbor even adds events notifications for planning, checkpoints, restoring, scheduling and trigger operations. As a result, users are able to backup image boot servers with the newly added data located on the root disk.
Certainly, with every new release, the already secure OpenStack infrastructure continues to enhance and improve their security by the community, for the community.
Enhanced Resource Management
Secondly, thanks to the completed transition of the Placement capability into an isolated service, users can now use it independently of Nova. In addition, OpenStack Train has managed to decrease the service response time to 0.7 seconds from 16.9 seconds. Meaning that the service response time is 16.2 seconds faster than Stein's release. Faster response times mean better allocation of extra time. Above all, that's something that all users of Train can benefit from.
